If it is not located in this directory, extract the files
to a temporary directory, and then move the files to the Aircraft
sub-folder in the correct CFS2 directory on your hard drive. The other
files are in "zip" format.
The BIGGEST difference that you will find between this Web
site and others that offer downloads for the various flight simulations is
that whenever possible I have attempted to create an
"installation" program for the downloads...No more having to
create folders, and then copying and/or moving files. The installation
program does all of this for you AUTOMATICALLY. So, where possible, all
you have to do is to simply double-click on the installation program and
enjoy! I strongly encourage you to visit the Installation
Page to see how this program works before downloading any of the
wonderful add-ons from this site.

ABOUT THESE AIRCRAFT
Downloads from this
page are for Microsoft© Combat Flight Simulator 2 ONLY,
and should not be used in CFS1, as we have versions of the
aircraft for CFS1 as well. The aircraft found on this page have been
designed by members of ABSquad. These aircraft are not "mods",
but are true "add-ons". Much time and effort has gone in to the
creation, design, and testing of each and every one of the planes found
here on this page. We have and always will strive for "historical
accuracy" in the planes we design. Specifications for the aircraft in
most cases come directly from the manufacturer, or sites on the Internet
that are dedicated to these planes. Their flight characteristics,
handling, speed, armament, and look are as close to the real thing as
Combat Flight Simulator 2 will allow (at least we think so...). They are
not 100% accurate because of those limitations --- but we feel that they
are closer than anything else that is currently available. Download
them...fly them...then decide for yourself...

GERMAN
AIRCRAFT:
CFS2 Arado AR-1 (15.9MB).
This aircraft was originally developed as a night fighter to counter
British Mosquito's, as well as a strategic bomber interceptor. Plans for
the aircraft were put on hold, as Hitler preferred the Me 262 instead.
Allied strategic bombing in 1943 and 1944 effectively destroyed
Germany's ability at any mass production of the aircraft. As a result,
the Arado AR I never entered service. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.
NOTE:
You MUST install the new version of
the CFS2 Ultimate
Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced"
weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the
file size down.
CFS2 Dornier AB-Do 335A-1 (6.57MB).
The Dornier Do 335A-1 Pfeil ("Arrow") is instantly identified by
it's tandem engine layout and upper and lower tail fins. This layout gave
the plane twin engine power (with the low drag of a single), and none of
the usual problems of engine-out handling common to twins. Too late to see
wartime service for the Luftwaffe, the prototypes were well received by
test pilots, who called it the "Ameisenbar", or
"anteater", due to its long nose. The Do 335 also had a internal
bomb bay and an ejection seat. Concept by: Zipper. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Focke-Wulf AB-Fw
190A-4 "Hannes" (5.79MB).
Considered Germany's "other iron in the fire" as far as the
Luftwaffe was concerned. At the time, the Bf 109 was the primary German
fighter, and had proven itself quite capable, until the Battle of Britain.
Virtually un-catchable with sufficient altitude, the 190A-4 can strike and
leave almost at will, with the Spitfire Mk V's it fought left in the dust
behind it. New CFS2-syle look and textures, panel and gauges and new
sound files! By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Focke-Wulf AB-Fw 190A-8
(4.68MB).
The most produced fighter version of the Fw 190 was the A-8. With it's
large power reserves, including the GM-1 nitrous-oxide boost system, it
was armed with THE MOST dangerous gun combination available on any
mainline fighter. It was the first almost entirely electric fighter,
making it resistant to the very common hydraulic failures that plagued
damaged planes (electrical lines are tougher than hydraulic, and smaller).
Complete re-work of the original A-8, including new textures, panel and
"radial engine" sound files. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Heinkel AB-HE-111 H16 (14.5MB).
When World War I ended, the German Air Force was disbanded under the
Treaty of Versailles, which required the German government to abandon all
military aviation by October 1, 1919. However, by 1922, it was legal for
Germany to design and manufacture commercial aircraft, and one of the
first modern medium bombers to emerge from this process was the Heinkel He
111. The large numbers in which it had been produced made the He 111 the
Luftwaffe's primary bomber for far too long in the war. Features
special weapon load outs and sound files that simulate propeller
"pitch". By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2
Horton AB-HO-229A-1 (6.78MB).
The HO-229 was a prototype flying wing fighter/bomber project. It was a personal
favorite of German Luftwaffe chief Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, and was the only plane to come close to meeting his infamous performance requirements. It was also the first flying wing with turbojets. The only surviving example of the HO-229 is currently in storage at the Smithsonian Institute in
Washington, DC. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Junkers AB-JU-87D-3
Stuka (10MB).
The Stuka caused terror to civilians and soldiers during the
"Blitzkrieg", and was also an efficient armor vehicle killer.
Many different versions were manufactured from 1937 to the end of the
second world war. This particular aircraft is representative of the type
used by the Luftwaffe Eastern Europe in 1941. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2
Junkers AB-Ju-187 (11MB).
The Junkers Ju 187 was designed to replace the aging Junkers Ju 87 Stuka, which by the time of the Battle of Britain had proved very vulnerable to enemy fighters. A new, faster, better armed and better armored replacement was needed. One of the most unusual features was the movable vertical tail fin. Although an extremely radical design, the Ju-187 project never made it to production. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Luftwaffe AB-Hurricane
Mk I (1.83MB). Hawker Hurricane Mk I
captured by the Luftwaffe in 1941 and deployed in Paris, France for
defense against the D-Day invasion in June, 1944. The armament was
upgraded to include two 13mm and two 20mm cannons mounted in the wings in
place of the standard Browning .303 machine guns. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Luftwaffe AB-Spitfire
Mk V (4.22MB).
Supermarine Spitfire Mk V captured by the Luftwaffe in the Fall of 1942.
The Germans added a Daimler-Benz DB 605D engine with a whopping 2,000hp!
The new engine "stretched" the nose of the plane, making it look
very similar to the Messerschmitt Bf 109G. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Messerschmitt AB-Bf
109E-3 (1.22MB). "Emil" was a
nickname given to the E version of the Bf 109. The E-3 was one of the
first German fighters to see aerial combat in Western Europe, was used
extensively in Poland, and included a modified "square" canopy
with an armored windscreen. The Bf 109 is credited with more air victories
than any other fighter in the history of aerial warfare. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Messerschmitt AB-Bf
109E-4 (4.77MB). "Emil"
was a nickname given to the E version of the Bf 109. This version was a
first truly mass-produced variant of the Messerschmitt's fighter. The E-4
was a result of combat experience in Western Europe during Spring of 1940,
and included increased steel armor protection for the pilot and a modified
"square" canopy with an armored windscreen. The Bf 109 is
credited with more air victories than any other fighter in the history of
aerial warfare. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Messerschmitt AB-Bf
109E-7 (4.46MB).
Representation of the aircraft flown by Helmut Wick, November 1939. Wick
scored 56 victories in this particular aircraft in only one year before
being shot down by a Supermarine Spitfire over the English Channel in
November, 1940, as he was leading the Richthofen Geshwader. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Messerschmitt AB-Bf
109F-2s (630KB). Representation of a
Bf 109F-2 flown by Adolph Galland of the Groppe I/JG26, December 5th,
1941. Galland had always felt that the shortcoming of the Bf 109 was its
lack of firepower, so he had his own engineers remove the 7.7mm machine
guns mounted above the nose and replaced with two 13mm cannons. He also
had them add two 20mm cannons in the wings, hence the "s"
designation as a experimental aircraft. It is of interest to note that he
did this two days before the attack on Pearl harbor by the Imperial
Japanese Navy. Concept by: Zipper. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

109G-10AS (3.78MB). Considered the
fastest (450 mph) of the Bf 109's to be produced. The increase in engine
power allowed this aircraft to be the first to able to equal the
performance of the British Spitfires and Hurricanes in a turn and dive.

CFS2 Messerschmitt AB-Bf
110C-7 (7.17MB).
The Bf 110 was the result of a certain way of thinking from before the
war. During the period of 1934 - 1939 a lot of countries adopted the
doctrine of the "Heavy Fighter". The Messerschmitt BF 110 was an
all-metal twin-engine aircraft, with a three crew housed in a long
enclosed cockpit. Known in Germany as the "Zerstörer"
(Destroyer), it was too heavy to compete with single engine fighters of
the day, and too light to use as a bomber. As a result, it served as a
bomber escort for most of the war. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Messerschmitt AB-Me
262 HG3 (16.3MB).
This is the final shape that the Me 262 evolved into. Because mass
production was sped up, the aerodynamic design of Me 262 was completely
improved. The reduction of air resistance was attempted by storing the
engine in the main wing along with an increase in the sweepback angle of
the wing. Many in the aerospace industry believe that this is the
aircraft used as a "template" to design the Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk.
