IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DOWNLOAD FILES FROM THIS WEB SITE AND SAVE IT TO A TEMPORARY DIRECTORY (EXAMPLE: C:\DOWNLOADS), AND THEN RUN THE FILE FROM THAT DIRECTORY. OPENING THE FILE AND RUNNING IT FROM THE INTERNET IS NOT ADVISED, AS THE FILE CAN BE DAMAGED OR CORRUPTED DURING THE DOWNLOAD/RUN PROCESS.

ALL 64-BIT VERSIONS OF ITEMS FOUND ON THIS WEB SITE ASSUME THAT CFS2 IS INSTALLED IN ITS "DEFAULT DIRECTORY:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 2

NOTE: The installation program used here assumes that Microsoft© Combat Flight Simulator 2 is located in the following directory:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 2

If it is not located in this directory, extract the files to a temporary directory, and then move the files to the Aircraft sub-folder in the correct CFS2 directory on your hard drive. The other files are in "zip" format.

The BIGGEST difference that you will find between this Web site and others that offer downloads for the various flight simulations is that whenever possible I have attempted to create an "installation" program for the downloads...No more having to create folders, and then copying and/or moving files. The installation program does all of this for you AUTOMATICALLY. So, where possible, all you have to do is to simply double-click on the installation program and enjoy! I strongly encourage you to visit the Installation Page to see how this program works before downloading any of the wonderful add-ons from this site.

ABOUT THESE AIRCRAFT

Downloads from this page are for Microsoft© Combat Flight Simulator 2 ONLY, and should not be used in CFS1, as we have versions of the aircraft for CFS1 as well. The aircraft found on this page have been designed by members of ABSquad. These aircraft are not "mods", but are true "add-ons". Much time and effort has gone in to the creation, design, and testing of each and every one of the planes found here on this page. We have and always will strive for "historical accuracy" in the planes we design. Specifications for the aircraft in most cases come directly from the manufacturer, or sites on the Internet that are dedicated to these planes. Their flight characteristics, handling, speed, armament, and look are as close to the real thing as Combat Flight Simulator 2 will allow (at least we think so...). They are not 100% accurate because of those limitations --- but we feel that they are closer than anything else that is currently available. Download them...fly them...then decide for yourself...

MISCELLANEOUS AIRCRAFT:

AMERICAN AIRCRAFT:

CFS2 Bell AB-P-39D Airacobra (1.55MB). The Bell P-39, along with the Curtiss P-40, were the first U.S. aircraft to see combat in World War II. The most successful user of the P-39 was the USSR, which received 4,924 of the aircraft. The P-39 was well fit for the low-altitude fighting and ground attack the USSR used it for. The P-39's firepower and armoring were praised by Soviet pilots, and some of them became aces while flying P-39, like Alexander Pokryshkin, who scored 59 confirmed personal victories. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

NOTE: Downloads from this page are for Microsoft© Combat Flight Simulator 2 ONLY, and should not be used in CFS1. If you are looking for downloads for CFS1, please click here.

CFS2 Boeing AB-B-17F Flying Fortress (24.1MB). One of the most famous combat aircraft and almost certainly the most famous bomber ever built. The aircraft served in every WWII combat zone, but is best known for daylight strategic bombing of German industrial targets in Europe. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.  NOTE: You MUST delete any previous version of this aircraft BEFORE installing this new version.

NOTE: Downloads from this page are for Microsoft© Combat Flight Simulator 2 ONLY, and should not be used in CFS1. If you are looking for downloads for CFS1, please click here.

CFS2 Boeing AB-B-29 "Enola Gay" (25.8MB). The Enola Gay is the name of the B-29 Superfortress that dropped the first atomic bomb, code-named "Little Boy", to be used in war by the United States in the attack on Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6th, 1945. Because of the bomber's role in the atomic bombings of Japan, its name has been synonymous with the controversy over the bombings themselves. The B-29 was named after Enola Gay Tibbets, the mother of the pilot, Paul Tibbets. In 2003, the Enola Gay went on display at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. Includes new panel and customized sound files.

CFS2 Boeing AB-B-29 Superfortress (13.9MB). Made famous by the Enola Gay, the aircraft that dropped the Atomic Bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, effectively ending World War II. Features working bomb bay doors (engaged by the "/" key if using the CFS1-style keyboard setup or the "D" key is using the CFS2-style keyboard setup), special panel, steer-able nose gear and new ABSquad "Wild Ride" nose art textures. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Brewster AB-F2A-2 Buffalo (892KB). The Brewster F2A (company Model 139) was an American fighter aircraft which saw limited service during World War II. In 1939, the F2A became the first monoplane fighter aircraft used by the US Navy. In December 1941, it suffered severe losses in South East Asia while facing Zekes of the Japanese navy and the army's Oscars. It also saw action with US Marine Corps squadrons at the Battle of Midway. The F2A was derided by some American servicemen as a "flying coffin", due to poor construction and performance. Armament: Six .50 caliber machine guns mounted on the wings CFS2 Chance Vought AB-F4U-1A Corsair (3.41MB). Big, tough, and fast, the gull-winged Corsair was a formidable fighter against any opposition. The Corsair's signature gull wing prevented its immense propeller from chewing up the deck while keeping the landing gear struts short enough not to buckle in rough carrier landings. Like their comrades flying the Hellcat and the Army P-38, Corsair pilots could use the power of their fighters to engage the Zero at higher speeds and altitudes where the legendary Mitsubishi fighter struggled to compete. Includes the famous "whistling death" sound files! By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Chance Vought AB-F4U-1A "Lulubelle" (6.07MB). Representation of the aircraft flown by Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington of the famous VMF-214 "Black Sheep" Squadron. Major Boyington is personally credited with 22 kills and 4 probable. The "Black Sheep" fought their way to fame in their first 84 days of operation, piling up a record 197 planes destroyed or damaged. New CFS2-style textures and overall look, folding wings, opening canopy, new weapons load outs, new panel and includes the famous "whistling death" sound files! By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Chance Vought AB-F4U-5 Corsair (6.50MB). Known to the Japanese as "Whistling Death", due to the whining noise it made in a dive, the Corsair was in production longer than any other U.S. fighter in World War II with 14,800 built. It also had several claims to fame: It was credited with an 11:1 ratio of kills to losses in action against Japanese aircraft, and was the last piston-engine fighter in production for any of the U.S. Services. The Corsair ended the war with 2,140 enemy aircraft destroyed with a loss of only 538 to enemy fire. The "5" version of the Corsair was the last version used by the United States before the end of World War II. New CFS2-style textures and overall look, folding wings, opening canopy, new weapons load outs, new model file that includes the "collision fix" to help reduce collisions when flying online and includes the famous "whistling death" sound files! By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Consolidated AB-B-24D Liberator (4.60MB). The Consolidated B-24 was employed in operations in every combat theater during the war. Because of its great range, it was particularly suited for long over-water missions in the Pacific Theater. More than 18,000 Liberators were produced. Press the spoiler ("/") key to open and close the bomb bay doors. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Consolidated AB-PB2Y-5 Coronado (5.01MB). The PB2Y Coronado was a large flying boat patrol bomber designed by Consolidated Aircraft, and was the "next generation" of patrol bombers. Coronados served in combat in the Pacific, in both bombing and anti-submarine roles, but transport and hospital aircraft were the most common. Includes a new wake effect and the aerial depth charge. AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.:

CFS2 Consolidated AB-PBY-5A Catalina (4.91MB). The PBY Catalina was an American flying boat of the 1930's and 1940's. It could be equipped with depth charges, bombs, torpedoes, and .50 Browning machineguns and was one of the most widely used multi-role aircraft of World War II. PBY's were used as anti-submarine warfare aircraft, patrol bombers, convoy escorts, search and rescue aircraft, and transports. The PBY was the most successful aircraft of its kind, as no other flying boat was produced in greater numbers. Includes the aerial depth charge. AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Curtiss AB-P-40B "Flying Tigers" Warhawk (6.52MB). The Curtiss P-40 fighter, which first flew in October 1938, came into being by modifying a radial engine P-36 "Mohawk" airframe to accept the new in-line Allison engine, resulting in a great saving of time and money. The P-40 was made famous by the American Volunteer Group (AVG) serving in China, also known as "The Flying Tigers". E-mail me and I will also add your name along the fuselage underneath the cockpit if you'd like, replacing the "AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker" name that is currently there, thus "personalizing" the aircraft for you. Includes new sound files. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Curtiss AB-P-40E Warhawk (8.83MB). Representation of the type of aircraft flown by the USAAF at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Curtiss AB-SB2C-4 Helldiver (5.22MB). Much larger, heavier and faster than the earlier Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber, the Curtiss Helldiver was often nicknamed the "Big Tailed Beast" or more often just "Beast" by its crews. During the last two years of the war, the SB2C proved itself an effective attack bomber.

CFS2 Curtiss AB-XP-40Q-3 Warhawk (7.76MB). Prototype for the P-40Q, the program was abandoned near end of World War II for lack of military need. The similarities to the North American P-51 Mustang are obvious. The XP-40Q-3 was also the fastest of the P-40's to be produced. The guns were situated close to the fuselage, so much so that the plane is reported to have had a shot convergence of only 1.5 feet at 2,000 yards! By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Douglas AB-C-47 "Gooney Bird" (1.08MB). The main transport aircraft of the Allies in World War II. This aircraft saw action in every theatre of the war. Use spoiler key '/' to open cowl flaps. Representation of the type of aircraft flown on the television series "Black Sheep Squadron". By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: This version includes the "collision bubble" fix.

NOTE: Downloads from this page are for Microsoft© Combat Flight Simulator 2 ONLY, and should not be used in CFS1. If you are looking for downloads for CFS1, please click here.

CFS2 Douglas AB-SBD-3 Dauntless (2.40MB). Designed as light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft, the Douglas Dauntless was the workhorse of the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. It was the only plane to fight in every major engagement in the Pacific. Their greatest claim to fame was the destruction of the four Japanese carriers at The Battle of Midway on June 6th, 1942.

CFS2 Douglas AB-TBD-1 Devastator (2.29MB). At the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor the US Navy had a hundred Devastators, of which sixty-nine were in front line operational service. During the first six months of the war in the Pacific they were flown intensively against Japanese shipping and land targets, establishing a fine record of operational success that reached its peak in the Coral Sea campaign of May, 1942. However, a month later, in the Battle of Midway, the remaining Devastators were decimated by the superior Japanese opposition, and were eventually withdrawn from service. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Goodyear AB-FG-1D Corsair (6.20MB). The Goodyear FG-1D Corsair had the biggest and most powerful engine and the largest propeller of any fighter in history when it was introduced in 1940. It was also the first U.S. fighter to exceed 400 mph. Representation of the "Marines Dream" FG-1D. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 Grumman AB-F/A-19 Goblin (4.81MB). Fictitious fighter/bomber concept aircraft developed by Grumman in late 1944 to fill the need of a fighter/bomber that would not need a fighter escort, thus reducing the number of aircraft needed for a strike against hardened targets. A design flaw resulted in the Goblin having a tendency to go "nose over" during take off when given full throttle. This resulted in many accidents, especially with inexperienced pilots. The project was cancelled at the end of World War II. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Grumman AB-F4F-3 Wildcat (1.39MB). The Grumman F4F was the primary Navy and Marine Corps fighter during the first year and a half of World War II. Though the stubby little F4F could not equal the speed and maneuverability of its Japanese counterpart, the "Zero", its rugged construction and superior armament, coupled with well-trained pilots and good tactics, ensured that it generally gave at least "as good as it got" during the crisis months of 1942. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

CFS2 Grumman AB-F-6F5 Hellcat (5.45MB). Simple, rugged, and deadly, yet easy to fly, the Hellcat was another product of the so-called Grumman Iron Works. It was a larger, heavier, faster, and more powerful refinement of Grumman's F4F Wildcat, and the first American fighter to exceed the performance of the Mitsubishi Zero. Its immense 18-cylinder, 2,000 horsepower radial engine gave it the power to dictate the terms of engagement. Its speed, maneuverability, high-altitude capability, and typical Grumman toughness made it a winner against all comers. Features new panel, sound files, updated .air file and textures. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. NOTE: You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down.

12/01/2009. CFS2 Grumman AB-F-6F5 Hellcat (x86) (3.83MB). CFS2 Grumman AB-F8F-2A Bearcat (7.22MB). Nicknamed "The Hot Rod" for its fantastic acceleration and climbing ability, the Bearcat is considered to be among the best fighters ever produced by Grumman. It was capable of outperforming most of the early jet fighters during World War II, and would have outperformed ANY Japanese fighter aircraft of the period. It was the first US Navy fighter to feature a full "bubble" canopy, and was smaller, 20% lighter and had a 30% better climb rate than the Hellcat. As a final demonstration of the Bearcat's fantastic climbing ability, an F8F is reported to have set the record for a climb of 10,000 feet from a standing start in 91 seconds. It is said to have held this record for almost three decades, until finally beaten by an F-16 Fighting Falcon. Includes new flight characteristics (.air file), damage profile (.dp), textures, new panel, folding wings and working tail hook. Complete re-work of the AB-F8F-2A Bearcat due to issues with the model (.mdl) file that may cause CFS2 to crash to the desktop when attempting to fly the aircraft in multiplayer online games. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. You MUST install the new version of the CFS2 Ultimate Weapons Pack in order to be able to use the new "enhanced" weapons, as it is not included with the aircraft in an attempt to keep the file size down. CFS2 Grumman AB-TBM-1 Avenger (2.41MB). Among the Grumman Company's outstanding contributions to naval aviation, the Avenger perhaps holds the honor of being the most versatile. It served as a torpedo bomber, an ASW aircraft, and the Navy's first carrier-based AEW plane; there was also a modification for night operations, one for radar countermeasures, and another for Carrier Onboard Delivery. Includes working bomb bay doors, which are opened and closed by using the "spoiler" key configuration (the "/" key if using CFS1 keyboard layout, or the "D" key if using the CFS2 keyboard layout). CFS2 Lockheed AB-P-38F Lightning (8.22MB). The striking appearance and high performance of the U.S. Army's Lockheed P-38 Lightning made a powerful first impression. The P-38 Lightning holds the distinction of destroying more Japanese aircraft during World War II than any other Allied aircraft. The concentration of firepower in the Lightning's nose was so effective that a ONE-SECOND burst could destroy an enemy plane. New CFS2-style textures and overall look, opening canopy, new weapons load outs, new model file that includes the "collision fix" to help reduce collisions when flying online. My vision of how the "stock" CFS2 P-38F Lightning should fly like. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 Lockheed AB-P-38J "Death From Above" (7.87MB). The P-38 Lightning holds the distinction of destroying more Japanese aircraft during World War II than any other Allied aircraft. The concentration of firepower in the Lightning's nose was so effective that a ONE-SECOND burst could destroy an enemy plane. The top two American Aces of World War II (40 kills and 38 kills) both flew the Lightning. The J model was the fastest of the Lightnings, and 2,970 of this version were built. Late "J" models were equipped with electronically-operated aileron boost system. Includes new textures, sound files, panel and flight characteristics. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 Martin AB-B-26 Marauder (5.25MB). Although the Marauder did not make its first flight until November 25, 1940, its design showed such promise that 1,131 B-26s were ordered by the Air Corps in September 1940. The airplane began flying combat missions in the Southwest Pacific in the spring of 1942, but most of the B-26s subsequently assigned to operational theaters were sent to England and the Mediterranean area. Bombing from medium altitudes of 10,000 to 15,000 feet, the Marauder had the lowest loss rate of any Allied bomber. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 North American AB-B-25D Mitchell (4.44MB). The B-25 medium bomber was one of America's most famous airplanes of World War II. It was the type used by General Doolittle for the Tokyo Raid on April 18, 1942. Subsequently, it saw duty in every combat area being flown by the Dutch, British, Chinese, Russians and Australians in addition to our own U.S. forces. Although the airplane was originally intended for level bombing from medium altitudes, it was used extensively in the Pacific area for bombing Japanese airfields from treetop level and for strafing. CFS2 North American AB-B-25H Mitchell (6.51MB). The B-25H differed from the G primarily in having a much more powerful armament suite. A lighter-weight 75-mm T13E1 cannon was fitted in the nose tunnel. The nose was fitted with four fixed 0.50-inch machine guns instead of two. A pair of 0.50-inch machine guns were installed in individual blisters on the right hand side of the fuselage, and two flexible machine guns were provided at the waist stations. In addition, two 0.50-inch machine guns were installed in an armored Bell M-7 turret in the extreme tail. This one's for you, Thunder...By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 North American AB-F-82G "Twin" Mustang (3.67MB). The F-82 was the last propeller-driven fighter acquired in quantity by the USAF. It appears to be two Mustang fuselages on one wing, but in reality it was a totally new design. Its purpose was to provide a fighter carrying a pilot and co-pilot/navigator to reduce fatigue on long-range bomber escort missions. During the Korean War, F-82's were among the first USAF aircraft to operate over Korea. The first three North Korean MiG-15's destroyed by U.S. forces were shot down by all-weather F-82G interceptors. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 CFS1 North American AB-P-51D Mustang (6.75MB). Representation of the "stock" North American P-51D Mustang from Microsoft® Combat Flight Simulator, European Theatre (CFS1). The V-12 provides plenty of horsepower in a package with minimal frontal area, but its liquid cooling makes the Mustang more vulnerable to damage, especially in the ground-attack role, than planes with air-cooled engines. Wide, sturdy landing gear provides stability for takeoffs and landings. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 North American AB-P-51D Mustang (3.31MB). Arguably the greatest American fighter of all time, and one of the greatest from any nation, the P-51 was the first American fighter that used the information obtained from actual combat experience. Capable of escorting B-17's from Great Britain and back, and the equal of any conventional German fighter in air-to-air combat, the Mustang changed the course of World War II and military aviation. Representation of the P-51D found in the flight-sim "Jane's World War II Fighters". By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 North American AB-P-51H Mustang (7.75MB). The ultimate version of the Mustang was the P-51H, which was the fastest Mustang variant to see service and one of the fastest (if not the fastest) piston-engine fighters to enter production during the World War II. It was also significantly lighter than the original P-51D. The most downloaded aircraft from this site. New sound files taken from an actual P-51H at an air show in San Diego, CA, new panel with easier to read gauges and water-methanol injection. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 North American AB-XP-53M FireStang (4.85MB). Fictitious concept aircraft combining the wings and contra-prop engine from a Supermarine Seafang Mk 47 with the fuselage of the North American P-51H Mustang and loosely based on the Martin-Baker M.B.-5. The fuselage itself is made of steel tube construction, covered and faired with detachable panels, which offer exceptional accessibility to key components, and is armed with four 20mm cannons in place of the six .50 caliber machine guns. The XP-53M never flew. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 Northrop AB-P-61B-2 Black Widow (7.63MB). The P-61B version of the Black Widow introduced the improved SCR-720C A/I radar, as well as split main landing gear doors. It also had an eight-inch longer crew nacelle, and had a bigger and better heater system for the crew. It also had automatically-operated lower engine cowl flops, oil-cooler air exit flaps, and intercooler flaps. The oil tanks were mounted inside the engine nacelles instead of inside the outer wings. CFS2 Republic AB-P-47D Thunderbolt (4.35MB). The P-47 was one of America's leading fighter airplanes of World War II. In addition to establishing an impressive record as a high-altitude escort fighter, the P-47 gained recognition as a low-level fighter-bomber because of its ability to absorb battle damage and keep flying. By the end of the war, the Thunderbolt had been used in every active war theater with the exception of Alaska. Includes sound files from the original CFS1 P-47D, razor-back sliding canopy and new damage profile. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 Republic AB-P-47M "Marvelous Moe II" Thunderbolt (2.94MB). The P-47M holds the distinction of being the fastest aircraft of World War II. The massive, turbocharged Pratt & Whitney 18-cylinder radial produces 2,850hp. Unlike liquid-cooled engines, it can take many hits and keep running, providing significant pilot protection. And the eight big Browning .50 calibers spew a torrent of fire. Corrected the collision bubble in the model file, added weapon load outs to the damage profile, improved flight dynamics and attempted to correct the fuel consumption issue. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 Republic AB-P-47M "Azrael" Thunderbolt (3.04MB). Also known as Izra'il, Azrael is one of the four Archangels of Islam (Mikhail, Djibril, and Israfil), who brought God a handful of Earth from which He created Adam, and therefore earned his title as the "Angel of Death". He is the angel who accompanies your soul to Heaven. Contemporary nickname is "The Guardian of the Lost Souls". CFS2 Republic AB-P-47N-28-RE Thunderbolt (5.48MB). Affectionately nicknamed "Jug," the P-47 was one of the most famous fighter aircraft of WW II. Although originally conceived as a lightweight interceptor, the P-47 developed as a heavyweight fighter. Used as both a high-altitude escort fighter and a low-level fighter-bomber, the P-47 quickly gained a reputation for ruggedness. Its sturdy construction enabled the Thunderbolt to absorb severe battle damage and keep flying. The "RE" version was designed specifically as a long-range escort aircraft. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker. CFS2 Supermarine AB-Seafire Mk 47 (USAF) (5.39MB). The "Navalized" version of the Spitfire Mk 24. Even though it weighed nearly twice as much as the Spitfire Mk I, it was over 100mph faster, had four 20mm Hispano Mk II cannons instead of the standard .303's, and used a contra-prop and tail hook for carrier landings. CFS2 Supermarine AB-Spiteful F Mk XIVc (USAF) (3.28MB). The Supermarine Spiteful F Mk XIVc was perhaps the ultimate development of the Spitfire design, utilizing the all-round vision cockpit canopy, a five-bladed propeller, six Hispano Mk II .20mm cannons, laminar flow wings, and a new Rolls-Royce Griffon 69 engine rated at 2,375hp. Only 10 were built, and of these 4 were flown in combat. The end of World War II, as well as the advent of the jet fighter, terminated plans for the use of the Spiteful. Fictitious representation of a USAF Spiteful F Mk XIVc. This is a complete re-work of the textures, panel, sounds and damage profile (now has 2,000 rounds of 20mm cannon). By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Vought AB-SB2U Vindicator (1.76MB). The Vought SB2U Vindicator was a carrier-based dive bomber developed for the United States Navy in the 1930s, the first monoplane in this role. Obsolescent at the outbreak of World War II, Vindicators still remained in service at the time of the Battle of Midway, but by 1943, all had been withdrawn to training units. Vindicators served on four carriers, USS Lexington, USS Saratoga, USS Ranger, and USS Wasp between December, 1937 and September, 1942. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.
