IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
THAT YOU DOWNLOAD FILES FROM THIS WEB SITE AND SAVE IT TO A TEMPORARY

NOT ADVISED, AS THE FILE CAN BE DAMAGED OR CORRUPTED DURING THE

NOTE: The installation program used
here assumes that Microsoft© Combat Flight Simulator 2 is
located in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft

If it is not located in this directory, extract the files
to a temporary directory, and then move the files to the Aircraft
sub-folder in the correct CFS2 directory on your hard drive. The other
files are in "zip" format.
The BIGGEST difference that you will find between this Web
site and others that offer downloads for the various flight simulations is
that whenever possible I have attempted to create an
"installation" program for the downloads...No more having to
create folders, and then copying and/or moving files. The installation
program does all of this for you AUTOMATICALLY. So, where possible, all
you have to do is to simply double-click on the installation program and
enjoy! I strongly encourage you to visit the Installation
Page to see how this program works before downloading any of the
wonderful add-ons from this site.

ABOUT THESE AIRCRAFT
Downloads from this
page are for Microsoft© Combat Flight Simulator 2 ONLY,
and should not be used in CFS1, as we have versions of the
aircraft for CFS1 as well. The aircraft found on this page have been
designed by members of ABSquad. These aircraft are not "mods",
but are true "add-ons". Much time and effort has gone in to the
creation, design, and testing of each and every one of the planes found
here on this page. We have and always will strive for "historical
accuracy" in the planes we design. Specifications for the aircraft in
most cases come directly from the manufacturer, or sites on the Internet
that are dedicated to these planes. Their flight characteristics,
handling, speed, armament, and look are as close to the real thing as
Combat Flight Simulator 2 will allow (at least we think so...). They are
not 100% accurate because of those limitations --- but we feel that they
are closer than anything else that is currently available. Download
them...fly them...then decide for yourself...

MISCELLANEOUS

AMERICAN
AIRCRAFT:
CFS2 Bell AB-P-39D Airacobra
(1.55MB). The Bell P-39, along with the Curtiss
P-40, were the first U.S. aircraft to see combat in World War II. The most
successful user of the P-39 was the USSR, which received 4,924 of the
aircraft. The P-39 was well fit for the low-altitude fighting and ground
attack the USSR used it for. The P-39's firepower and armoring were
praised by Soviet pilots, and some of them became aces while flying P-39,
like Alexander Pokryshkin, who scored 59 confirmed personal victories. By:

CFS2 Boeing AB-B-29 "Enola
Gay" (25.8MB).
The Enola Gay is the name of the B-29 Superfortress that dropped the
first atomic bomb, code-named "Little Boy", to be used in war by the
United States in the attack on Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6th, 1945.
Because of the bomber's role in the atomic bombings of Japan, its name
has been synonymous with the controversy over the bombings themselves.
The B-29 was named after Enola Gay Tibbets, the mother of the pilot,
Paul Tibbets. In 2003, the Enola Gay went on display at the National Air
and Space Museum in Washington, DC. Includes new panel and customized
sound files. By:

CFS2 Boeing AB-B-29
Superfortress (13.9MB).
Made famous by the Enola Gay, the aircraft that dropped the Atomic Bombs
on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, effectively ending World War II. Features
working bomb bay doors (engaged by the "/" key if using the
CFS1-style keyboard setup or the "D" key is using the CFS2-style

CFS2 Brewster AB-F2A-2
Buffalo (892KB). The Brewster F2A
(company Model 139) was an American fighter aircraft which saw limited
service during World War II. In 1939, the F2A became the first monoplane
fighter aircraft used by the US Navy. In December 1941, it suffered
severe losses in South East Asia while facing Zekes of the Japanese navy
and the army's Oscars. It also saw action with US Marine Corps squadrons
at the Battle of Midway. The F2A was derided by some American servicemen
as a "flying coffin", due to poor construction and performance. By:

CFS2 Chance Vought
AB-F4U-1A Corsair (3.41MB). Big, tough,
and fast, the gull-winged Corsair was a formidable fighter against any
opposition. The Corsair's signature gull wing prevented its immense
propeller from chewing up the deck while keeping the landing gear struts
short enough not to buckle in rough carrier landings. Like their comrades
flying the Hellcat and the Army P-38, Corsair pilots could use the power
of their fighters to engage the Zero at higher speeds and altitudes where
the legendary Mitsubishi fighter struggled to compete. Includes the famous
"whistling death" sound files! By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

AB-F4U-1A "Lulubelle" (6.07MB).
Representation of the aircraft flown by Major Gregory "Pappy"
Boyington of the famous VMF-214 "Black Sheep" Squadron. Major
Boyington is personally credited with 22 kills and 4 probable. The
"Black Sheep" fought their way to fame in their first 84 days of
operation, piling up a record 197 planes destroyed or damaged. New

CFS2 Chance Vought
AB-F4U-5 Corsair (6.50MB).
Known to the Japanese as "Whistling Death", due to the whining
noise it made in a dive, the Corsair was in production longer than any
other U.S. fighter in World War II with 14,800 built. It also had several
claims to fame: It was credited with an 11:1 ratio of kills to losses in
action against Japanese aircraft, and was the last piston-engine fighter
in production for any of the U.S. Services. The Corsair ended the war with
2,140 enemy aircraft destroyed with a loss of only 538 to enemy fire. The
"5" version of the Corsair was the last version used by the
United States before the end of World War II. New CFS2-style textures
and overall look, folding wings, opening canopy, new weapons load outs,
new model file that includes the "collision fix" to help reduce
collisions when flying online and includes the famous "whistling
death" sound files! By:

CFS2 Consolidated
AB-B-24D Liberator (4.60MB).
The Consolidated B-24 was employed in operations in every combat theater
during the war. Because of its great range, it was particularly suited for
long over-water missions in the Pacific Theater. More than 18,000
Liberators were produced. Press the spoiler ("/") key to open

CFS2 Consolidated
AB-PB2Y-5 Coronado (5.01MB).
The PB2Y Coronado was a large flying boat patrol bomber designed by
Consolidated Aircraft, and was the "next generation" of patrol bombers.
Coronados served in combat in the Pacific, in both bombing and
anti-submarine roles, but transport and hospital aircraft were the most
common. Includes a new wake effect and the aerial depth charge.

CFS2 Consolidated
AB-PBY-5A Catalina (4.91MB).
The PBY Catalina was an American flying boat of the 1930's and 1940's.
It could be equipped with depth charges, bombs, torpedoes, and .50
Browning machineguns and was one of the most widely used multi-role
aircraft of World War II. PBY's were used as anti-submarine warfare
aircraft, patrol bombers, convoy escorts, search and rescue aircraft,
and transports. The PBY was the most successful aircraft of its kind, as
no other flying boat was produced in greater numbers. Includes the
aerial depth charge.

CFS2 Curtiss
AB-P-40B "Flying Tigers" Warhawk (6.52MB).
The Curtiss P-40 fighter, which first flew in October 1938, came into
being by modifying a radial engine P-36 "Mohawk" airframe to
accept the new in-line Allison engine, resulting in a great saving of time
and money. The P-40 was made famous by the American Volunteer Group (AVG)
serving in China, also known as "The Flying Tigers". E-mail me
and I will also add your name along the fuselage underneath the cockpit if
you'd like, replacing the "AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker" name that is
currently there, thus "personalizing" the aircraft for you. Includes
new sound files. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Curtiss AB-SB2C-4
Helldiver (5.22MB).
Much larger, heavier and faster than the earlier Douglas SBD Dauntless
dive bomber, the Curtiss Helldiver was often nicknamed the "Big
Tailed Beast" or more often just "Beast" by its crews.
During the last two years of the war, the SB2C proved itself an effective

CFS2 Curtiss AB-XP-40Q-3
Warhawk (7.76MB).
Prototype for the P-40Q, the program was abandoned near end of World War
II for lack of military need. The similarities to the North American P-51
Mustang are obvious. The XP-40Q-3 was also the fastest of the P-40's to be
produced. The guns were situated close to the fuselage, so much so that
the plane is reported to have had a shot convergence of only 1.5 feet at
2,000 yards! By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

Dauntless (2.40MB).
Designed as light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft, the Douglas
Dauntless was the workhorse of the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. It was the
only plane to fight in every major engagement in the Pacific. Their
greatest claim to fame was the destruction of the four Japanese carriers
at The Battle of Midway on June 6th, 1942. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Douglas AB-TBD-1
Devastator (2.29MB).
At the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor the US Navy had a hundred
Devastators, of which sixty-nine were in front line operational service.
During the first six months of the war in the Pacific they were flown
intensively against Japanese shipping and land targets, establishing a
fine record of operational success that reached its peak in the Coral Sea
campaign of May, 1942. However, a month later, in the Battle of Midway,
the remaining Devastators were decimated by the superior Japanese
opposition, and were eventually withdrawn from service.

CFS2 Grumman AB-F/A-19 Goblin
(4.81MB).
Fictitious fighter/bomber concept aircraft developed by Grumman in late
1944 to fill the need of a fighter/bomber that would not need a fighter
escort, thus reducing the number of aircraft needed for a strike against
hardened targets. A design flaw resulted in the Goblin having a tendency
to go "nose over" during take off when given full throttle. This
resulted in many accidents, especially with inexperienced pilots. The
project was cancelled at the end of World War II. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Grumman AB-F4F-3 Wildcat
(1.39MB). The Grumman F4F was the primary Navy
and Marine Corps fighter during the first year and a half of World War II.
Though the stubby little F4F could not equal the speed and maneuverability
of its Japanese counterpart, the "Zero", its rugged construction
and superior armament, coupled with well-trained pilots and good tactics,
ensured that it generally gave at least "as good as it got"
during the crisis months of 1942. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

CFS2 Grumman AB-F-6F5 Hellcat
(5.45MB). Simple,
rugged, and deadly, yet easy to fly, the Hellcat was another product of
the so-called Grumman Iron Works. It was a larger, heavier, faster, and
more powerful refinement of Grumman's F4F Wildcat, and the first American
fighter to exceed the performance of the Mitsubishi Zero. Its immense
18-cylinder, 2,000 horsepower radial engine gave it the power to dictate
the terms of engagement. Its speed, maneuverability, high-altitude
capability, and typical Grumman toughness made it a winner against all
comers. Features new panel, sound files, updated .air file and

CFS2 Grumman AB-F8F-2A
Bearcat (7.22MB).
Nicknamed "The Hot Rod" for its fantastic acceleration and
climbing ability, the Bearcat is considered to be among the best fighters
ever produced by Grumman. It was capable of outperforming most of the
early jet fighters during World War II, and would have outperformed ANY
Japanese fighter aircraft of the period. It was the first US Navy fighter
to feature a full "bubble" canopy, and was smaller, 20% lighter
and had a 30% better climb rate than the Hellcat. As a final demonstration
of the Bearcat's fantastic climbing ability, an F8F is reported to have
set the record for a climb of 10,000 feet from a standing start in 91
seconds. It is said to have held this record for almost three
decades, until finally beaten by an F-16 Fighting Falcon. Includes new
flight characteristics (.air file), damage profile (.dp), textures, new
panel, folding wings and working tail hook. Complete re-work of the

CFS2 Grumman AB-TBM-1 Avenger
(2.41MB). Among the
Grumman Company's outstanding contributions to naval aviation, the Avenger
perhaps holds the honor of being the most versatile. It served as a
torpedo bomber, an ASW aircraft, and the Navy's first carrier-based AEW
plane; there was also a modification for night operations, one for radar
countermeasures, and another for Carrier Onboard Delivery. Includes

CFS2 Lockheed AB-P-38F
Lightning (8.22MB).
The striking appearance and high performance of the U.S. Army's Lockheed
P-38 Lightning made a powerful first impression. The P-38 Lightning holds
the distinction of destroying more Japanese aircraft during World War II
than any other Allied aircraft. The concentration of firepower in the
Lightning's nose was so effective that a ONE-SECOND burst could destroy an
enemy plane. New CFS2-style textures and overall look, opening canopy,

a ONE-SECOND burst could destroy an enemy plane. The top two American
Aces of World War II (40 kills and 38 kills) both flew the Lightning.
The J model was the fastest of the Lightnings, and 2,970 of this version

Lockheed AB-P-38J-15 Lightning (5.27MB).
The P-38 Lightning holds the distinction of destroying more Japanese
aircraft during World War II than any other Allied aircraft. The
concentration of firepower in the Lightning's nose was so effective that a
ONE-SECOND burst could destroy an enemy plane. The top two American Aces
of World War II (40 kills and 38 kills) both flew the Lightning. Representation

(5.25MB). Although the Marauder did not make its first flight until November 25,
1940, its design showed such promise that 1,131 B-26s were ordered by the
Air Corps in September 1940. The airplane began flying combat missions in
the Southwest Pacific in the spring of 1942, but most of the B-26s
subsequently assigned to operational theaters were sent to England and the
Mediterranean area. Bombing from medium altitudes of 10,000 to 15,000
feet, the Marauder had the lowest loss rate of any Allied bomber. By: AB_Lt_Cmd_Riker.

The B-25 medium bomber was one of America's most famous airplanes of World
War II. It was the type used by General Doolittle for the Tokyo Raid on
April 18, 1942. Subsequently, it saw duty in every combat area being flown
by the Dutch, British, Chinese, Russians and Australians in addition to
our own U.S. forces. Although the airplane was originally intended for
level bombing from medium altitudes, it was used extensively in the
Pacific area for bombing Japanese airfields from treetop level and for
strafing. Press the spoiler ("/") key to open and close the bomb

guns instead of two. A pair of 0.50-inch machine guns were installed in
individual blisters on the right hand side of the fuselage, and two
flexible machine guns were provided at the waist stations. In addition,

The F-82 was the last propeller-driven fighter acquired in quantity by the
USAF. It appears to be two Mustang fuselages on one wing, but in reality
it was a totally new design. Its purpose was to provide a fighter carrying
a pilot and co-pilot/navigator to reduce fatigue on long-range bomber
escort missions. During the Korean War, F-82's were among the first USAF
aircraft to operate over Korea. The first three North Korean MiG-15's
destroyed by U.S. forces were shot down by all-weather F-82G interceptors.
